Beeswax Wraps Kits

At Up On The Rooftop, we are thrilled to be able to stock these beautiful hand made Beeswrap kits from Beefolk.
Beeswax wraps, on top of smelling like a walk between beehives, are biodegradable, compostable, and reusable. Can you say the same of plastic wraps? It is also easy to care for, just wash it with cold water (so that the beeswax does not melt) and mild soap, and let air dry. You can use beeswax wraps to replace your plastic wraps and thus putting it around fruits, veggies, cheese, bread, etc. It is also great to seal containers with food, like bowls of salad in your fridge. Just use your hands to mold the wrap around your food, their warmth will make the wrap grip tightly to the food or the container you are using.
Because it cannot be washed with hot water, the use of beeswax wraps for meat is not recommended.

We love beeswax wraps because they are natural, reduce waste, and are part of a global movement caring about sustainability and eco-friendliness.
Our philosophy is to stock beautiful items that are sustainable and gentle on the Planet but also, have a history, story or tradition that hearkens back to a time when life was simple, passionate souls who had a dream or a belief brought to life through dogged persistence or it is just a damn good idea. Beefolk wraps well qualify for a place on our shelves.
Marianni from BeefolkMarianni explains the ethos behind her business: "evolved from a desire to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics in the home. I never felt comfortable wrapping food in plastic and then worse throwing it away. Beeswax wraps are an ideal alternative to plastic wrap and can be composted when they finally reach their end of life!

Our bee folk blend has been formulated after much research and careful selection of ingredients. Our beeswax is sourced from a local beekeeper and family business in the Northern Rivers of NSW, whose property is nestled into the base of the Blackwall Range, backing onto the Uralba Nature Reserve. Our beekeeper does not interfere with the natural production of the hives, or over farm them.

The "Honeycomb Kit"  is great value with 5 organic cotton fabric squares
